According to the New York City HIV Surveillance Report in 2024, there are roughly 14,500 people in Queens living with HIV. As of March 31st, 2025, roughly 82% have achieved viral suppression.

As providers, we know that in order for someone to achieve and maintain viral suppression, they need consistent support from trusted health care providers and community resources.

Treatment, especially for chronic health conditions, may not be linear. People can fall out of care for a number of reasons, including changes in housing status, mental health needs, substance use and other competing life priorities. As care providers, it is our job to support clients as they walk through our doors and ensure they have the resources to engage in care on their terms.

The following tools were compiled by the Queens ETE to help facilitate non-stigmatizing care to support clients as they navigate re-engagement in HIV treatment.
